Joy went home for spring break and a crisis hit at work, both of which contributed to my lack of motivation to haul myself to the gym with laptop in tow for my insanity work out. I feel like a log once again.

After some near-sobbing texts, Joy sent me this link during work yesterday and as hard as it might be for you to comprehend, made everything better. I feel empowered and rejuvenated.

BECAUSE we got invited to Verameat's teaparty...

My friends and I went to Verameat's teaparty Sunday after church after much coaxing because the invitation listed an actual address... and we discovered that her apartment has a private yard with a hammock in the heart of Union Square....Seriously?!

 We met the designer and her puppy

 

 and fell completely in love with her jewelry.

After leaving her apartment, we stopped by the NYC flagship on 9th and picked up a few goodies.

BECAUSE 2012 COTY is tangerine tango

Is it me, or is it the first time you’ve heard of the concept “color of the year” and Pantone Universe for that matter? Or you’re like Joy and are actually in the fashion/fabric/design industry and have had Pantone codes memorized the way I memorized pi?

After I got over my initial bout of giggles and eye rolling, I did call up two different Sephoras in the city to inquire about the release date for the single item I was actually curious to try out:

I’ve never had a more luxurious and  yummy smelling lipstick in my 23 years. It’s so creamy and moisturizing and SCENTED and completely reminiscent of the YSL Rouge Volupte.

Do yourself a favor and grab 3 before they sell out. One for yourself, a backup for when you go through this tube in 3 months, and one for yo mama bc mother’s day is coming up.

We decided to start Insanity.

For the next two months we will limp and moan and stop eating cupcakes...

Did we mention that we live a couple of blocks from Billy's? Did we also mention that New York is home to thousands of delicate, delectable cupcake shops that make 'em lighter than air? We inevitably pass at least half a dozen pastry shops, cupcake trucks, and chocolate stores every single day just to maneuver from pt A to pt B on our beloved island.

To make matters worse, Joy and I have crazy different schedules. I work, she’s in school, we both go to church about three times a week so it’ll be interesting how consistent we can be and how much pain we can take before we throw in the towel and run for a cupcake.
